Six years since the case of the "Feminist Five", in which young Chinese feminists were detained for their public activism, the movement has been forced off the streets. People who pioneered the movement were silenced and written out of the official narrative. Yet a broader feminist awakening continued thanks to the seeds they sowed. Today, the fight for gender equality drives China's most vibrant online discussions. The trailblazers are no longer leading the movement, but they continue to challenge the patriarchal system through action wherever they are.
